- The previous restoration:

This statue was restored once in 1970s by using Polyester resin with copper pin. In present day, the old resin is malfuctioned and the sandstone is heavily decayed, especially at the back side of the statue (back, buttocks and pedestal).

- Intervention:

  • Removed the Polyester resin which was malfuctioned
  • Dried-clean and water clean
  • Injected the Silicate Ethyle resin S.E300 and S.E500 to reinforce the sandstone.
  • Replaced the previous copper pin by removable stainless steel pin and attached by Epoxy resin
  • Closed the crack by stucco
  • Lay down to compress in order to take out the salt component.
