The four- arms Avalokiteshvara seated in cross-leg, where the both lower arms are placed on the knees and the upper arms hold up with attributes. He wears diadem of conical miter which is decorated by lotus bud. There is a tiny Buddha “Amitabha” on the chignon and a third-eye on the forehead. He was ornamented by necklace, armlets and bracelets. He wears a short Sampot Chang Kbin above the knee.
- Observation:
- Surface: Dark gray and pale red patina, dusk, spider web, black dots on the left breast and stomach.
- Structure:
- Lost: upper right hand; lower right fingers; right foot; left shin; and left thigh
- Break: neck; upper-left hand at the shoulder; right arm at elbow and wrist; and lower left arm at the wrist that placed on the knee.
- Chip: right side of the diadem; nose; lips; both earlobes; at the end of lower right hand and at the edge of the left frontal pleated Sampot.
- Scale off by layer: left knee; at the back side of the miter and body.
- The previous restoration:
This statue was restored once in 1970s by using Polyester resin with copper pin. In present day, the old resin is malfuctioned and the sandstone is heavily decayed, especially at the back side of the statue (back, buttocks and pedestal).
- Intervention:
- Removed the Polyester resin which was malfuctioned
- Dried-clean and water clean
- Injected the Silicate Ethyle resin S.E300 and S.E500 to reinforce the sandstone.
- Replaced the previous copper pin by removable stainless steel pin and attached by Epoxy resin
- Closed the crack by stucco
- Lay down to compress in order to take out the salt component.
